THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HON. OSEI ASSIBEY-ANTWI AND HIS TEAM FROM NATIONAL SERVICE SECRETARIATE PAID A COURTESY VISIT TO UPSA ENTERPRISE AND INNOVATION CENTRE (UEIC).
The Executive Director of NSS, Hon. Osei Assibey-Antwi and his team on November 23, paid a courtesy visit to Upsa Enterprise and Innovation Centre to encourage and support the NSS persons who for the first, the school is allowing to work on their business ideas and provide them with the necessary support to ensure the businesses are well established to create employment opportunities for its graduates to reduce the unemployment canker in the country.
Hon. Osei Assibey-Antwi was accompanied by some of his eminent team which include, Mr Oxford Osei Bonso, Project Director of NSS and Mr. Armstrong Esaah, Head of Corporate Affairs.
Hon. Osei Assibey-Antwi commended the school for creating such a wonderful platform to enable the UEIC persons to work on their businesses. According to him, most students in other universities have brilliant ideas in the form of project work sitting on the shelves of the schools gathering dust, So for the management of UPSA to come up with such initiative especially in this era where unemployment is a major issue, He is truly proud of the school.
He encouraged the UEIC persons to take advantage of this opportunity because now they have their future in their own hands.
He said “ Instead of you doing your NSS in maybe Kumasi, Bawku or in the Volta region where you may walk 2 miles before you go and teach, now all these sacrifices have eluded you, all you have to do is to work on your business whiles you’re been provided with the necessary support, you’ve gotten the best opportunity in the world. Now you have your destiny in your hands, all you have to do is to work on it.
He further encouraged the UEIC NSS persons to devote their time and work on their businesses to ensure the businesses succeed as He and his team are ready to support them in various ways. He advised the UEIC Nss persons to put in the work now and enjoy for the rest of their lives or they will spend the rest of their time working even at pension when they do not take this opportunity seriously.
Hon. Osei Assibey-Antwi in his final speech said He believes in the future, they are going to make provisions for a bigger hall where they can absorb more than 500 student entrepreneurs across all the regions of Ghana. Meanwhile, the some members of the UEIC Advisory Board and staff were also present, they include Dr. Fidelis Quansah, Dr. Joseph Gerald Nii Tetteh Nyanyofio, Mr Richard Osei Owusu, Mr. Nelson Amo and Mr. Twum Obed.
